Missing In Action...

I have completely neglected this blog for quite a bit! I apologize, it wasn't my intention at all. It just so happens that the wedding preparations have taken off full blast. I honestly couldn't be more excited. Other than work, I now have to think and worry about cake tasting, invitations, tuxes, and everything else you can think of that has to do with weddings. I know many grooms prefer to let the bride do all of the planning. I'm not one of those grooms. I'm very hands on with EVERYTHING that I'm a part of and of course my wedding will not be an exception. The thing that is making this all better is that my fiancee, Nydia, is very very very prepared and organized. We have very little left to worry about. Good thing too because there is only 4 1/2 months left until showtime. We have a couple more places to go cake tasting but we already tried one place. A place called "Flour Power" in El Cajon. I must say that their flavors are all fantastic and I was very impressed.

Among all the wedding madness, we held a garage sale yesterday morning. It had been the first time that the Fierro family really did held anything of the sort in their home and I must say it went well for being very unprepared. Nydia is a very good sales-woman. I think we might do it again. We need to make as much room as possible for our new home.

All in all, this is probably the most exciting time of my life and I am thoroughly enjoying it. I'll update on a few more things soon. It's early Sunday morning and daylight savings time is kicking my butt. I'm off to get me some coffee. Cheers.

Too bad this isn't a real version of monopoly. They have made every damn Monopoly version possible! Why not beer?! I am a little hurt about the fact that they failed to put more Mexican beer in the game. At least Pacifico would have been nice...but JUST Corona? I don't know about that. And it's SAMUEL not SAMUAL ADAMS....anyways....Enjoy. I have to go outside to the keg and get a cup of fresh Dos Equis.

The Year of the Black Rainbow is upon us!

I can't even describe how excited I am for this. Many of you already know I'm a HUGE Coheed and Cambria fan. Today they announced their *fifth album, entitled "The Year of the Black Rainbow", will be released on 4/13/2010! Stoked! The countdown begins!

*edit - I suck at life and for some reason had put 4th album before. I was too damn excited and screwed up my count. Prolly cause I was turning Good Apollo Vl. 1 & 2 into just one. I apologize :(

You know how people say time flies by when you are having fun? Well my 4 years in high school flew by thanks to Band class. Yes, I was a band geek. Played Clarinet for 8 years, got to section leader in High School, was a band camp counselor, and even majored in music during my short 2 year stint in college. Yes those 4 years flew by but not without leaving life long memories along the way. I've come to realize that if someone were to make a t.v. show about the things that go on in high school band, it'd be a hit. Of course the show would need a great writer and a few of us would need to be squished into one character to make it more interesting but, nonetheless, band was nuts. I met some people in band that I am still friends with today and I even met my fiancée there!

Here's a picture of my high school band whilst in Disneyland in 2002. Find the red arrow and you'll find me. Directly to my right is my fiancée Nydia, 3 years before we started dating.

I've been saying it for quite a while now that I think EVERYONE should expose their kids to music. Support the music programs in your neighborhood and local schools for there are many that have been disbanded thanks to budget cuts and a loss of interest in the kids. The reason I post this? ... I think it's time for a reunion.

So here's something unusual...

I recently purchased a patch for my brand new AFC 50th Anniversary Chargers Jersey #17 from Ebay. It was being shipped from Thailand so obviously I expected it to take a while to get here. What I didn't expect was for my letter to arrive in the condition it did. It arrived like this...

Seriously USPS? Seriously? Well At least it was in a plastic envelope with a nice little note from them...

I'm still not sure how I feel about this. Fortunately my patch was undamaged. I'm pretty sure I would have raised hell in the post office it that would have been the case.

*Sigh*

Talking about the Chargers...We play the Jets next Sunday. I get to wear my brand new Jersey!

First post of 2010!

Finally got around to writing a blog a week into the new year...I know, I know. I said I would write more often and it will happen. I've just been super busy with things but I promise I will keep my promise. Promise. Anyways, One thing that has kept me from blogging during the week is the fact that I've been coming home from work past 7ish everyday! Work is kicking my butt. Right after I get home I've been running daily. I think I've missed one day so far this year since I started. One of the New Year's Resolutions. On top of it already being a resolution our good friends David and Kristy Baron invited us to join them for this year's 3 Mile Mud Run at Camp Pendelton! It's gonna be intense, as you can see. So we're taking this training very seriously. Last year I started using the Nike+ Application that the iPhone offers but I hadn't started using it consistently like I have this year. Basically all you need is the Nike+ Sensor and either an iPhone3G or the iPod Sports Kit and you can track your runs through the Nike+ website. It's pretty damn awesome and it helps you set goals. It has helped me out tremendously because it keeps you inspired to run more and more.

Nike obviously has special shoes which have a spot in the sole where you can put your sensor but you don't need to buy the shoes! I have a friend who has a pouch he uses and that works just fine for him. If you are serious about working out more and running, I suggest you check it out for yourself.

For those of you who have yet to read it... here is a super short little story I wrote when I was bored like a bajillion years ago. I look back and read it and it still makes me laugh. I know I'm weird ok. Hope you like it :)

"WHAT SHE GETS"

He just could not do it. He could not let her get away with it. His love for her is way too great for him to let this go. He sits in a sort of daze, holding a kitchen knife in his left hand. In his head, he knows it must be done. There is no doubt in his mind at all.

He's Ready.

His legs are shaky from sitting on them for too long. He manages to get up on his knees and then slowly stands up. He begins to walk towards the bedroom in which his love rests peacefully.

He's determined to do it.

He begins to think of all the great times they have had together. The big food fight during thanksgiving dinner at her parent's house. The long nights spent watching movies and playing scrabble. And those sunday mornings watching cartoons and eating breakfast with their two children.

He stood there at her side while she slept. Knife still at hand, he raised his left hand , took a deep breath and whispered, " I love you"

He closed his eyes and delivered blow after blow to her body, puncturing her heart and ending her life.

That's what she gets for eating the last twinkie.

Whoa!
I haven't blogged since Halloween of last year! Must get on it again. Here's one to get me started back up again....

Padres Season Opener Vs Los Angeles Dodgers
lost 4-1
New talent on the team. Blanco (Catcher) showed us all he has an arm. Peavey sucked balls. Giles looks hurt. Gerut looks good. We'll see how this season goes. As long as we aren't so damn close to losing 100 games again. I got to go to the World Baseball Classic this year to see Mexico Vs. Korea. Mexico got owned. All in all, it hasn't been the best of times for my teams. God do SOMETHING! Anyways...here are some pictures of todays game. I'll post some from the WBC game soon.

How To: McChubby

On our first "how to" blog, I will show you how to make a chubby kids dream burger. THE McCHUBBY! I know you must be asking yourself, "wtf mate?" Yes, I know, I know, I eat at McDonalds WAY TOO MUCH. But it is now to your advantage that I stuff my face of enough MickeyDs to create something with such overwhelming deliciosity. So without further ado, I give you THE McCHUBBY:

Ingredients:

1- Double cheeseburger
1- McChicken Sandwich
1-6 Piece Chicken McNuggets
1- packet of Mexican Style Salsa
1- packets of Jalapeno Relish

Extras:
Soda (you will need something to wash this monstrosity down) and Fries

Directions:

1. Take your dcb (double cheese burger) and remove the TOP bun.
2. Open packets of Mexican Style Salsa and Jalapeno Relish and pour contents on top of the dcb meat.
3. Re-position top bun in its original position.
4. Remove BOTTOM bun of McChicken Sandwhich and discard. (yes, throw that shit away or feed it to your dog...hardcore chubbys will prefer to eat it themselves).
5. Place DCB on the bunless side of the McChicken Sandwhich.
6. Place Chicken McNuggets somewhere inside of the DCB ( I prefer right on top).
7. ENJOY!
